Earlier this week at the IFA 2016, smartphone maker – Asus announced its new smart timepiece the Asus ZenWatch 3 that sports a circular display with a elegant design. In a bid to take its other rivals like Samsung and Huawei in the smartwatch war, Asus seem to have taken care of every design details as well the functionality offered.
After its previous range of ZenWatch series that offered a square display with rounded edges, Asus has finally decided to come up with a circular dial. The Asus ZenWatch 3 comes with a crown and two control button to its right giving the time-piece a rich chronograph feel.
Looking to the technicals, the watch features a 1.39inch AMOLED display offering a 400 x 400 pixel resolution and a 287 PPI density. Ensuring the safety, the screen is covered with a Corning Gorilla Glass and the dial material consist of stainless-steel. The entire body of the watch is less than 10mm thick giving it a slim look.
The Asus ZenWatch 3 is available in three colors of : Silver, Gunmetal and Rose-Gold. for the strap, there are options to choose between Italian leather or rubber and both of them will be available in beige and dark brown color.
The Asus ZenWatch 3 will run the latest Android Wear 2.0 and comes with pre-installed 50 watch faces. Also, the watch comes with company’s own ZenFit activity tracking app, that will put reminders in case of inactivity and also count the number of steps you have covered throughout the day. The company claims the app to be offering analysis with a 95% accuracy.
Looking to its machine power, the ZenWatch 3 features a specially designed smartwatch chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC. Also, the time-piece features a 512MB of RAM with 4GB of internal storage, much similar to most of the smartwatches available in the market.
The smartwatch also features a pretty standard 340mAh of battery juice on-board supported with the Asus Hypercharge technology. With this technology, the ZenWatch can charge to 0-60% in just 15 minutes. The charging for the watch is done through a magnetically attached charging connector.
The Asus ZenWatch 3 is likely to be released this year in December.
